Menel sighed when the night began to come to an end. The people of the city were leaving the citadel. She took a step back and leaned against the wall. Well, i guess since I didn't see them there, at least I'll see them when they leave. She thought. Just then, as the people began to pass her by, two gaurds walked over to her and stood in front of her. Since she didn't give up her weapons, they wanted to make sure she didn't try anything when the people walked by. She could see between them. She watched all the ladies who the prince had to chose from. She frowned. She looked down as the people went to pass on by, going unoticed by all and seemed to just blend into the wall.

Menel had laughed along with Sphinx, having never met a guard like him before. She watched him walk away and looked back to the crowd. So, Prince Eldarion is chosing a wife...She though to herself.
Menel rose up on her tip toes and tried to look over everyone, but still failed to see anything. She tied her horse to a post and started to walk in, but was stopped by a guard. "I'm sorry, Miss, but if you wish to enter, you'll have to leave your weapons." Menel looked at the guard then down to her sword. She would not give it up and had to stay at the back, still unable to see anything.

Menel had plopped back down onto the horse once Sphinx stopped before her. "Sorry, Sir." She dismounted him and stood in front of Sphinx, holding onto the reins. "It is my first time in the city. I apologize. I only came here to see what everyone was talking about. I had not been informed of any happenings." She looked past Sphinx to try and see, but had no luck. There were too many people around. She leaned back on her heels and rested her hand on her sword hilt, though her cloak was between the two. She returned her gaze back to Sphinx.

Menel looked down the wall and then to the street below her. People were beginning to stare, there were even a few guards taking a break to come and snicker at her. She was beginning to grow angry, not because people were laughing, she could care less, but it was because of this stubborn horse. He wasn't hers and he did always liked Kemen more.
"Get back over here, now." She snapped at him. He turned his head and glanced at her, giving a snort, he looked foreward again. "Get over here now, or you'll never see Kemen again." With that, he turned slowly and walked below her. He stopped and let her jump down onto him. She gathered up the reins and while snapping them in her hands, she turned him and headed further into the city.
As she rode, she recieved many strange glances and a few giggles. Word must had spread that there was an elf haning from the wall. She kept her head up and didn't let the people get to her. With a quick flick of her wrist, she moved her cloak to reveal her sword. Some stopped short in their laughing and turned away, and some just kept walking.
She rode up to the citadel, having seen many heading that way, and wondered what was going on. She stopped at the entrance, the guards would let her go no further with a horse or a sword. From where she was she could make out the King and saw a dark haired elf sitting at his side. Probably Arwen..She thought. She placed her knees into her horse's back, pulled herself up and tried to see more.

Menel had wondered the city through the night. She had made her way to the seventh circle and back at least twice, taking it all in. She was kept in a forest all her life and really didn't get out much. This is only the beginning.... She thought to herself as she passed a small bakery with wonderful smells coming from it.
She suddenly heard some chatter on the other side of a wall. She looked ahead of her, then behind her. She didn't see any way to get on the other side. She glanced around for any gaurds and dropped her reins. Carefully, she pulled her feet from the stirrups and onto the middle of her horse's back. She steadied her hands on his neck and pushed herself up.
She grabbed ahold of the top of the wall and had to lift herself off her horse to see. She saw many women standing around talking with each other. She pulled herself up a little further, now having her elbows resting on the wall. Her horse suddenly walked away from where he had been standing. She looked down and waved her legs. She wouldn't let herself just fall, so she just held on, looking rather stupid.

(Hm...interesting... ) Menel rode across the Pelennor fields at a slow and steady pace. After some time, she had been wanting to visit the White City. She rode on a black and white stallion, which was actually her sister's, Kementari, but she didn't know she had taken him, her being the younger, more adventurous sister. Kemen didn't want her to leave. There was work that needed done around the forest, but Kemen was the one who belonged in the forest, not Menel. She stopped her horse before the great gate and called up to the gaurds. After a moment of talking to each other, they let her in. Her fair face caught the warm glow of the sun as she rode in. She was cloaked with brown boots, green pants, a dark blue shirt and a forest green cloak. Her long brown hair flowed behind her as the wind blew lightly on her face. The sight of the city brought a warm smile to her face. She looked around as she rode up the stone street.

Menel turned sharply, "When I came here I wasn't expecting to plan. You called me here so I decided I would see what you wanted. And, why follow me now? You were the one who fled from battle, remember? It's been years and now you call me out of nowhere." Menel narrowed her eyes at Arawan and looked down her nose at him. He'd struck a bad nerve and if he continued like this, there would be blood shed between the two.

Menel stopped dead and looked down. She jumped down out of the tree and landed right before Arawan, almost on his toes. Her emotionless expression turned into a firm glare. She had tucked Sphinx deep into her mind after Eoden brought him up, and now he was being brought up again.
Menel stared long and hard into Arawan's eyes until he glanced away, thought only for a brief second. She then turned her back to him and started walking. She didn't know where she was going, but wanted to get away. Why did he summon me here? Why did I come... I was doing fine on my own... And that is how I like it... On my own. She stopped a few yards away and stared off into the forest, as if strucken by something.

Menel indeed was not paying attention to Arawan. She was looking over the forest, but imagined the smoke that hoovered above it. She tore off a leaf from a branch, shreaded it and let if fall in peices to the ground. She gripped onto a branch and lifted her feet off the one she was standing on, she started to swing herself and suddenly let go. She dropped several feet until she caught the next branch. She pulled herself up and looked around again.

Menel paused and looked down at Arawan, she answered, "I know I am not invicible. But then, I have died previous times in the past." She went on pacing, wondering what was taking Nevias so long. He should have her by now... Or failed with her by now... She stopped and looked up at a tree. The branches tangled with each other as it grew higher. She grabbed onto a low branch and pulled herself up. She climbed to the top and peered out over the forest.

"Yes, they will at how you look at it. Rivendell is on the other side of the mountains... And Gondor is far south. It will take more than a couple days for them each to get here, if Mirkwood sends for aid. We'll find a way to bring them to their knees." She answered. Menel looked to the tops of the trees when a few crows took off from the high branches, cawing as they went. She looked around, feeling restless. She started to pace out of nothing to do, but wasn't a nervous pacing. She looked down as she walked, thinking to herself.

Tossing the brush back into her bag, Menel turned back to face Arawan, but she didn't look at him. She kept her focus on the branches above him. "Three could do it.... We'd attack from the inside out... At their hearts.... Giving them no hope... Maybe get a few guards on the outskirts of the forest under our power.... Yes, yes we can do it." She said softly, as if she were thinking aloud. She took no notice of Arawan and turned back to Sereg and put his saddle back on him. She tightened the girth and turned around, leaning on him, she looked down at her boots.

Menel glanced over her shoulder at Arawan, "Calm yourself," she said as she turned back to Sereg, "He is busy with other affairs at the moment. We must wait to see how things turn out." She unlatched the girth of the saddle and took it off Sereg. She went over and put it on a log. She sighed as she laid her bag on the saddle while taking a brush from it and started to brush Sereg down.

Menel took Arawan's hand and pulled herself up. "We'll begin when Nevias is finished with what he's doing." She told him. She glanced over at Sereg when he began to paw at the ground. She went to him and calmed him by slowly stroking his neck. "I'll find out what he's planning." she says, looking at Sereg.

"Very well." Menel replied. She let her arms fall to her side as she looked Arawan up and down. The crimson ring on his finger was still there, untouched. She relaxed a bit and decided to sit down. She leaned back against a fallen branch and looked back up at Arawan, "About this proposition," she begins, "Nevias wants to overthrow Mirkwood." She locked eyes with him, expressing that she would love to also, but also showing what his opinions were on this.
