Eleryn sees "Andune"'s horse, and freezes. She may not recognize the elf, but she could recognize that horse anywhere.
"Nice name." she says quietly, not taking her eyes off of the horse. She doesn't move, if she makes a grab for her weapons, she will lose. Besides, this elf hasn't done anything yet. Eleryn tries not to think about all that the elf in front of her has done to Mirkwood, but can't help it

Eleryn watched the elf began to sharpen her long knife. She looked at Dernwine and smiled. "Do you like Mirkwood then? I am rather fond of Rohan myself."
"I never caught your name," she said to the stranger. "Do you mind if I ask?"
Eleryn took out her canteen and took a drink of the cool water while she waited a reply.

"I am Eleryn." she said simply. No need for rank here. She watched the elf across from her closely, not seeing much. The fire continued to aid in cloaking the stranger.
"And what is your name?" she asked the man, turning to look at him briefly. "It is possible that we have met before."
Eleryn felt the green eyed elf staring at her, and for a split second a thought entered her head. She quickly dismissed it, but it stayed in the back of her mind.

Eleryn sits down and thanks the cloaked person. She decides that it is an elf, but the fact doesn't make her comfortable. She ignores this and accepts the apple from the man. She half way joins in what the man is saying, correcting him when needed, but mostly looks at the elf. Something feels all wrong.
Eleryn scolds herself for being so paranoid silently. What are the chances that this elf is evil? Slim to none. She thinks to herself, keeping up with what the man is saying. She tries to see something that could ease her mind about the stranger, but only catches a flash of green eyes in the flicker of the fire.

Eleryn took a deep breath of the cool night air and looked across the plain. It was so open, and the stars were so bright that she could see for miles around. Everything was a perfect shade of blue and grey. She slowed Randir when she saw a fire atop a hill in the distance.
Normally the elf captain was not so nosy, but as she was on her vacation, she decided who else was on the plains that night. Randir was ready to rest for the night, and needed no urging to make his way towards the campsite.
As she got closer, she noticed that there were two sharing the campsite. When she was at the foot of the hill she dismounted Randir and allowed him to go on his way to graze and rest for the night. She then started to climb up the hill, and found one very relaxed rohirrim man and a cloaked character. She guessed that the person was an elf, but decided not to make any assuptions.
"Mind if I stay here for awhile? I have my own food, I just wanted some company." she asked the two.
Randir spotted Sereg and immediately flattened his ears. He backed up and waited at the foot of the hill for Eleryn to come back.

The sun continued to rise, but the morning stayed cool. The world became grey in the pale light. Eleryn continued walking towards the tavern, singing quietly to herself and Randir. It was nice and peaceful, and reminded her of the tranquil gardens of Mirkwood.
Her thoughts strayed to the Garden of Water. It was her favorite. There was a pond filled with lazy water lillies, and from it trickled a stream that wrapped around the entire area. Statues of elves of the old stood silent watch over the waters, always staring towards the sea. There were several bridges as well, and she remembered the one that she had stood on with Legolas--
Her thoughts were interrupted by the sudden change of grass to dirt. She had finally reached the road to the tavern.
"Come on Randir, almost there. Then you can sleep for as long as you want, and have nice oats to eat." she said lazily. Eleryn was ready for a rest herself.

(Let's see, I think I shall use Eleryn ;D)
Eleryn patted her stallion's neck and dismounted. She took a deep breath and looked around her. Pelennor... she thought to herself. It has been awhile.
The elf began to walk towards the nearest tavern. It wasn't unusual for the Captain of the Mirkwood guard to take a vacation every once in a while and visit places in Middle Earth. Half of the time she found herself going towards Minas Tirith, which was where she was headed now.
The tavern she had spotted was still quite a distance away, but Randir was showing he was tiring, so she would walk the rest of the way. Eleryn didn't mind. It was nice to see the sun come up and hear the silence, broken only by her horse's quiet hooves hitting the grassy turf.
It was a nice cool morning. Not cold, but cool and crisp. The grass was beginning to sparkle with the dew that was appearing, but her well worn boots kept her feet dry.

"Menel killed him." she said after a pause. "She is always here, trying to bring Mirkwood to it's knees." she said, looking down.
"Perhaps we should go to the palace. That is where Legolas will be. Just don't mention his father and I am sure that we can help you with whatever you need." Eleryn said, gesturing for Matttheapar to follow her.

Eleryn watches him leave, then looks back at Mattheapar.
"I am sorry about that, you see, the King was killed. Legolas doesn't like to talk about it..." she said, looking back at where he had disapeared.
"But you know what losing someone close is like, so I am sure you understand." she said, looking back.

Eleryn sees Mattheapar appear and bows.
"Good day m'lord." she says, remembering that he is the King of Rivendell now. Then she realized what he had asked, and suddenly the memories came flooding back to her, causing a slight pain in her heart for a second. She looked first at Legolas, then down at the ground.
Perhaps the new King hasn't heard the news... she thinks to herself, cautiously looking back at Legolas.

"Well, it seems like we were on our way to the palace to eat and drink." said Eleryn, looking at Legolas. "Or do you tire of the palace? Would you rather me go and get refreshments and we eat in the garden, or go to the palace?" she asked, looking at both Estella and Legolas now.

"I am glad that you came as well, Estella." said Eleryn, smiling. "You brighten my mood."
Eleryn looked around the garden and smiled, determined to have a good day and not let her past trouble her.

Eleryn walked into the first ray of sunlight there was and just let it soak in. She moved to the shade after a moment and watched as the sun played hide and seek with the shade and danced around with the wind. It was nice here.
"I hardly ever come to this garden, but when I do I always wonder why." she said aloud to try and break the silence.

"I think so." she said, glancing at her cousin.
#I will explain later# she said to Estella, catching her confused look.
