Eoden closed his eyes again as drops of sweat coated his eyelids. He whipped out his sword and dug it into the ground. His mouth began to move but no words came out. Eoden screamed as he held out his sword in front of his face, a bright green light reflecting off it. He grimaced, and without opening his eyes, swung it violently at Menel's side.

Menel saw the carelessness of the strike and moved out of the way just in time. Her fist shook more as she dug deeper into Eoden's mind. The voice was now racing over and over again as loud as ever. Menel could not hear the sounds of Eoden screaming, just the voice. She drilled deeper into his mind, causing him immense pain. By just holding her hand there, and not try and get it to close, that much pain would endure until she let go of him.

Eoden opened his eyes now, shouting louder than ever. He was extremely weakened by the force and his head ached with tremendous pain. There was a constant pounding on his skull as he gave one last strike towards Menel's head, before he hit the ground hard.

Menel moved her head slightly, but still recieved a slight cut on the cheek. The voice in her head began to die down and finally stopped. She let her hand fall to her side and took in a deep breath. She turned towards the cave, "Forgive me. This is not as it looks. I told him I would bring him no harm and after a while, he drew his sword on me. He is not one of my servants, nor is he majorly hurt. He merely passed out." With that she bowed to the two elves and grabbed Eoden's arms and drug him deeper into the forest, a bit of a ways from the caves. She set him up against a tree and stood in front of him, looking down at the pathetic fool.

When Eoden awoke it was still dark out, although getting a little lighter, as the sun barely crept through the clouds. He looked around, very dazed, and when his eyes met Menel's he swiftly jumped up and clutched for his sword...but it was not there. He slowly backed away but was stopped as his back hit up against a tree. He brushed off his pants and smiled. "Not my enemy, eh?"

Menel squinted as a soft ray of sunlight shone through the leaves of the tree and hit her face. She looked at Eoden, a bit amused, "You forced me to do it. Besides, all you got was a rather bad headache." She told him as she wiped the dried blood from her cheek.

Eoden saw Menel wipe the blood from her cheek as he realized how she received the gash. He felt proud for a moment. "I'm sorry," he admitted, "but you were once my enemy, and trusting a foe, who you thought wad dead, can be a dangerous task, Menel. That still does not give you reason to cause me pain beyond belief." Eoden moved his eyebrows closer together and winced at Menel.
"So now what, " he said, "Our cover is blown now. Who knows what Nevias is doing to Eleryn at the moment. "

"You're sorry.." Menel mocked. She didn't know what Nevias had in store for Eleryn, but her guess was pretty good. She glanced over her shoulder and let out a high pitched whistle. Within a matter of minutes Sereg came galloping up and stopped before her. He flattened his ears at the sight of Eoden and took a snap at him. She patted his nose and slung her bag around the saddle horn.

((This may be confusing. Eoden doesn't actually believe Menel's on his side, he just thinks that is what Menel thinks about him...Yup))
Eoden hissed back at Sereg, then looked at Menel. "Why do you call for your horse? Where are you going?"

Menel looked at Eoden as Sereg moved around behind her. "I'm not going anywhere. I didn't want him to stay out there. He gets angry when he's left alone." Menel explained.

*Dernwine watched the whole time, as Menel left to follow Eoden, they Sereg left after a whistle. She mounts Baldor with some difficulty (it being only the second year or so after she ran away) and rides to where the others went. "Well, now that we're rested up and fed, let's go find some action!" she says to Baldor as she prods him into a gallop. Being a Meara, he reaches the caves fast, and Dernwine stops him about 50 feet away from the entrance. Just to stay safe from arrows, she walks him over near a big boulder, but still stays mounted, watching Menel and Eoden and the firelight emitting from the cave.

Nevias sighs in disgust as the Menel again shows her inability to keep a targer quiet. I must teach her to be less noisy someday... he thinks.
"Listen eleryn, listen to me. When you return to Mirkwood, Legolas is going to whisk you away to the garden of sunlight, and there he is going to ask for your hand in marriage. BUT do not let him fool you, he only wishes to marry so he can take his father's place on the throne. Soon after ascending, Legolas will have you assassinated by one of his one special forces team so the residents of Mirkwood will feel sympathy for him and make larger tribute to him for his loss. He doesn't care about you eleryn, he only wishes to use you. "
Nevias pours every bit of power into his words, layering his voice melodically many times over. He knows she is tired, making it much harder to resist.
"BUT eleryn, there is an alternative..."

Eleryn had been going over what Nevias had said the first time. It nearly broke her, until she heard things outside. That drew her attention for a moment, just until Nevias started talking again. She didn't want to believe it, but what he said made sense.
"No.." she managed to say. Thoughts were racing through her head, Legolas, Nevias, Menel, weariness... the list kept growing. Would he do such a thing? What if Nevias was telling the truth?
He was exciled, he is the enemy. Never trust the enemy... her mind told her. It was almost hard to stand. Leave Mirkwood? Legolas often talked of leaving, would he leave her? You don't want to leave either way... her mind said again.
Would Legolas do something like that? Her mind began to race even faster.
Nevias mentioned an alternative... her mind told her. An alternative to all these thoughts seemed so nice. To give in and sleep, not have to worry about Mirkwood and Legolas anymore...
Suddenly she stood, though it was a great effort. She threw her weariness aside for the moment, sleep could come later.
"I could never join with you and betray my only home." she said, looking right at Nevias. Then she became aware once again of the noise outside, and shifted her gaze towards the opening of the cave. She spotted two people. She guessed one was Menel, and then saw the other.
"Eoden!" she said happily, before turning to look at Nevias again.

Menel glanced around before letting her eyes land upon Eoden again. Hearing the call of Eleryn, she had changed her mind. "On second thought, I will be going. I have matters I have to attend to." She bowed slightly and swiftly mounted Sereg, who pranced impatiently. "Good day." She gave Sereg a light kick and he bolted off out of the woods.
Sereg galloped across the feilds, feeling good to run at a dead sprint again. It didn't take long for her to reach the Druadan forest. I shall inform Nevias as soon as I find out what Arawan is up to. She thinks as she slows Sereg to a walk. She rides into the forest as she draws Ruin, moving the low branches and vines with its blade as she does so.

Eoden looks confused at what Menel says and he stares at her gallop away. Eoden narrows his eyes and tries to see if Eleryn is still off in the distance, she is not. She begins his trek back to the cave to see what was really going on. As he gets closer he draws his sword and growls.
